Share Pages and Projects with UTM Tracking

With the UTM tracking feature, you can share your published pages and projects with precise tracking parameters. This allows you to track in your analytics tools like PostHog, Pirsch, or Google Analytics exactly which platform or campaign your visitors are coming from.

Contents

  1. Open URL Modal
  2. Copy URL without Tracking
  3. Share URL with UTM Tracking
  4. Set Campaign Name
  5. Create Platform-Specific Links
  6. Use Custom UTM Parameters

Open URL Modal

After publishing a page or project, you can access the URL via the "Show Item URL" modal. This modal is automatically displayed after publishing or can be opened at any time from the project/page overview.

The modal shows you:

  • The complete URL of your page or project
  • An option to copy the URL without tracking
  • A QR code function
  • The UTM tracking feature for sharing with analytics parameters

Copy URL without Tracking

For quick sharing without tracking parameters, you can copy the base URL directly. Simply click on the copy icon to the right of the URL to copy the URL to your clipboard.

Note: The base URL is suitable for direct communication when you don't need detailed analytics tracking.

Share URL with UTM Tracking

To share your pages and projects with precise analytics tracking parameters, open the "Share with UTM tracking" section in the modal. Click on the gray button to expand the UTM section.

After opening, you'll see:

  • An input field for the optional campaign name
  • Six platform buttons for quick sharing
  • An advanced option for custom UTM parameters

Set Campaign Name

The campaign name helps you distinguish different marketing activities in your analytics. Enter a descriptive name in the "Campaign Name (optional)" field, e.g., "spring-2026-launch" or "newsletter-march".

Note: The campaign name is automatically added as the utm_campaign parameter to all platform links. You only need to enter it once.

Create Platform-Specific Links

The six platform buttons automatically generate the appropriate UTM parameters for each platform:

  • Facebookutm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social
  • Twitter/Xutm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social
  • LinkedInutm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=social
  • WhatsApputm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=messenger
  • Emailutm_source=email&utm_medium=email
  • Google Adsutm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc

Simply click on the desired platform button, and the link with the corresponding UTM parameters will be automatically copied to your clipboard. The button briefly shows a green checkmark to confirm the successful copy.

Example URL after clicking "Email":

https://your-domain.com/project/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=spring-2026-launch

Tip: You can use the same campaign name for multiple platforms to consolidate all activities of a marketing campaign.

Use Custom UTM Parameters

For advanced tracking requirements, you can set individual UTM parameters. Click on "Custom UTM parameters" (gear icon) to open the advanced section.

Here you can manually define the following parameters:

  • utm_source: The traffic source (e.g., "newsletter", "partner-website")
  • utm_medium: The medium (e.g., "email", "banner", "social")
  • utm_campaign: The campaign name (also inherited from the field above)
  • utm_content: Additional distinction (e.g., "header-link", "footer-cta")

After entering, you'll see a preview of the generated URL. Click on "Copy link" to copy the link with your custom parameters.

Note: Custom parameters override the automatic platform parameters. Use this option when you have special tracking requirements, e.g., for A/B tests or detailed content distinction.

Best Practice: Use consistent naming conventions for your UTM parameters to simplify analysis in your analytics tools. Example: utm_campaign=2026-spring-launch instead of utm_campaign=spring launch or utm_campaign=SpringLaunch2026.
